Abstract
Among 3, 000 cases of gastric fiberscopies during the past 7 years and 2 months(from Jan. 4,1968-Mar.3,1975) there were 61 cases with benign elevated l~sions. Among these, 47 cases were seleetE:d for this study excluding those which. had other foc<<1 pathology such as ulcer or cancer beside s the elevated lesions and those description of the site of the elevated lesion was obscure. Aomng the benign elevated lesions submucosal. tumor were 4 and polyps .were 47 in number. Distribution of these polyps by age groups and site of the stomach were examined and the following results were obtained.
1. Highest incidence of polyp was seen at the 5th decade and the average age was 50.1 years.
2. About 76.6% of polyps were found at antrum and it appeared that the site of polyp moves ¢¥towards the proximal stomach as the patient¢¥s age increases.
3. subpedunculated and pedunculated types occupies about 1/3 of the polyps and 80.0 0 of subpedunculated or pedunculated polyps were seen at antrum. The incidence of subpedunculated and pedunculated types appeared to~increase as the patient¢¥s age increases and about 2/3 of the polyp in 7th decade were subpedunculated or pedunculated type.
